SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A San Antonio man has been accused of using a slingshot to break windows in drive-by vandalism targeting stores and public buses.
Police say 39-year-old Thomas Marion Keller faces nine counts of criminal mischief. Police are investigating more than two dozen cases.
Police had no information Tuesday on an attorney for Keller, who was arrested Saturday. Bexar (bayr) County jail records don’t list Keller as still in custody.
An affidavit says Keller, who’s denied the charges, fired ball bearings while driving in the San Antonio area.
A gas station window was broken Oct. 13. A similar incident happened days earlier at the same location and an employee noticed a truck nearby.
Police located the vehicle less than a mile away, with a slingshot inside, and determined Keller owns the truck.
